Windy City Lake Shake Country Music Festival

Thursday, July 2, 2015

It feels like I've been talking about my time at the Inaugural Lake Shake Country Music Festival for quite some time, but it's been shorter than two weeks! Well, now I am finally posting this photo diary of how amazing that weekend was. Despite the chilly winds on Friday and the rain on Saturday, the weekend over all was so much fun and involved meeting some of my favorite country music artists.

Friday's line up on the main stage included Canaan Smith, Maddie & Tae, Cassadee Pope, Kip Moore and Dierks Bentley. I was lucky enough to have my mom come along for the evening. As you'll see below, I was able to get super close to the artists for pictures. However, my favorite part of the day/weekend was meeting Dierks Bentley. It was totally unexpected, but he was kind enough to take a quick picture. He even told my mom to take another, just in case we didn't capture the first. (Of course, my head was like "heck yes, I'll stand here another 30 seconds hugging you for a picture...")

The rest of the weekend included performances by Easton Corbin, Joe Nichols, Justin Moore, Frankie Ballard, Thomas Rhett, Randy Houser, Florida Georgia Line and Brad Paisley. There were several more on the Next to Nashville stage, but those I named were the ones I was lucky enough to capture a few photos of on and off the stage.

On the property, they had the cutest little beach house by Malibu Rum. Seriously felt like we were right on the beach with the bright chairs, mixed drinks and summer decor. This was a great little spot for us to hang out in when it was getting chilly on Friday. Now, if only I could go to a real beach. Who wants to take me to the shore?

Canaan Smith

Tae from the adorable due, Maddie & Tae. Probably, one of my favorite shots from the weekend!

Austin Webb

Cassadee Pope

Kip Moore - hayyyy! FYI, we made serious eye contact for a short time...like to the point the girls next to me even verified before I had to ask. *swoon*

Friends, meet my newest and cutest friend, Dierks Bentley (and ignore how awful I look...)
Justin Moore. Unfortunately, his set got rained out and he couldn't stay until Sunday, but it was fun to see him back stage!

Haley and Michaels

Thomas Rhett. Ugh, guys, Thomas is my favorite. Stinky part about his set - he wouldn't let photographers in to take pictures. #rude But, it's fine cus he's a hottie.
My favorite show this weekend was by far Florida Georgia Line on Sunday. Even my dad loved them!
Moments before Brian Kelly from FGL touched my hand. Total fan girl moment.

The one and only, Mr. Brad Paisley!
Loved this shot too! Get. it. Brad.
So, what do we think about all the festival photos? Of course, if you're not a country music fan, this probably wasn't your favorite post. But, I had too much fun that I had to make sure I posted some of the cool pictures. Stay tuned for an outfit post on Friday with what I wore to the festival on Saturday.

  2. OMG how awesome does this festival look??? You look like you had a fantastic time (though it does make me sad you had to wear a sweater, even such a cute one -- but that's the awful weather's fault!). Gorgeous shots of the stage and everything!
