Chicago Guide Vol 1: Top Blow Dry Bars in Chicago

I'm excited to announce a fun new series on the blog: LBB Chicago Guide! I've had the pleasure of review a lot of great services and explore spots on my own time that I knew I had to put something together to share some of my favorites with all of you. To kick it off, we're starting with non other than the beauty category to take a look at the top blow dry salons in Chicago. Of course, these are just some of my favorites - but I've personally visited each and am being honest about each location and why I love them!

Don't even get up, my friend, because this is one of those amazing beauty services that comes right to you. There is a whole new meaning to the phrase "rolling out of bed." Blohaute is an on-demand beauty service and iPhone app (coming to Android soon!) where you can book and receive your style in the comfort of your own home. If you're especially looking for an amazing Lollapalooza braid, this is who to call! Check out their Instagram for more info.

Location: Your home!

From the cute and refreshing yellow and white decor, you won't want to leave this pretty little place. The Drybar team is so great to work with and I can't get over their amazing branding - I mean, how cute is this style book? You may remember this Beauty Breakdown post from earlier this month where I review several of their products. They might be a little bit more than pocket change, but are worth the spend.
PS If you book during Happy Hour (2pm-5pm) on Mon-Wed, you get this cute bag!

Location: Lincoln Park

Dennis Bartolomei
I just recently got my hair cut after trying to grow out an awful cut I received in the winter (from a salon that shall not be named). Let me tell you, growing out bangs can be a total hassle. While they look cute at first, once the 3 week mark hits - it's all over. Here is where the amazing Jordan from Dennis Bartolomei comes in. He helped re-cut my hair so that I could actually style it again. Not only does he do a great job cutting hair but blowouts too. (How amazing does Ashley's hair look?)

Location: River North

George the Salon
Located in the heart of the Gold Coast (so you can grab a cupcake from Sprinkles Cupcake after...ok, and before), George the Salon is in the best spot for getting your blowout and then heading out for a  night out on the town. Walking out of the salon, I felt like a million bucks and pretended like I could afford all the fabulous shopping in the area. Great hair makes you feel this way, guys. This new location opened up this past spring, so you can be sure the staff and studio are revamped and ready to get to work on your lovely locks. Also, do we have thoughts on if I cut my hair this length next?

Location: Gold Coast

Glowout actually came to me as a recommendation from another stylist -  then you know it must be a great place. I have not officially tried this spot myself, but I hear there Pretty Parties are one for the books. Grab you gal pals and BYOB and you're set for an afternoon full of pampering. Besides blowouts, they offer airbrush tans and mani/pedis (which you can book on PrettyQuick.. score!). If you check them out, let me know what you think!

Location: West Loop

I'm planning to mix on fashion and food to this guide among others. I'd love your feedback on what kind of places you'd like to see. Is it best coffee shops? Most delicious tacos? The deepest deep dish pizza there ever was? YOU tell ME!

Can't wait to continue this series and hope you'll enjoy it too!
