On Wednesday, I mentioned I would be sharing some outfit inspiration from one of my top west coast inspired boutiques, Marine Layer. Well... here it is! I've been waiting for the perfect time to shoot this comfy sweater, but unfortunately our snow storm a few weeks back made my ideal scene unattainable at this point. So, I decided to head back to the amazing DLLoft for a fun afternoon shoot in the city.
If you aren't familiar with Marine Layer, it is an amazing retail store that is based out of California where every step of the production process is done. They make all of their items in small batches to make each purchase unique. They also use custom fabric, which is a blend of pima cotton and micromodal, to give you the softest tee you will ever purchase. (Umm.. sign me up!) Marine Layer can be found in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Portland, Venice Beach, New York City, LA, Chicago and soon to be Austin. Next time you're in the Bucktown area - don't forget to pop in! It's quite a chill and inviting atmosphere which is best for shopping of course!
I guess you could say I've mixed a little bit of the urban midwest with the beachy west coast to create a... beachy urban midwest vibe? Ha! You'll just have to see for yourself and let me know what you think :)
Guess what? You can purchase the "Katie" necklace right now, by going here.
Minorly obsessed with my Kiel James Patrick bracelet.
One of my favorite details is the quilting on the sweatshirt.
What do you think? Will you be stopping in a Marine Layer soon?
Thanks to my sweet friend Leisha for helping take photos and to Debi Lilly for letting me use her space at DLLoft!
