Today is the day I finally reveal my bangs-formation by the amazing new Chicago salon, Civello! It's been about a week now, and I am definitely getting used to the new fringe. Civello is originally from Canada, but recently merged with three Chicago Michael Anthony salons with locations on North Ave, Belmont, and State St. Civello specializes in high-end and high-touch experiences across all their signature salon and spa services that are tailored as part of a Total Urban Renewal. Are you ready to see my experience and mini hair makeover?! Well... read on!
Once I was all check in, I was led to the seating area where I sipped on their amazing house tea. It had flavors of mint and licorice root in a pretty Civello tea cup. Once I met my stylist, Michael, we started a mini vision crafting session which encompassed a complete point of view of my lifestyle and qualities to give me my best cut and style. Soon after, we were joined by Ray Civello, owner of the Civello salon chains, who also shared his input. We decided on a side fringe just above the brow, a trim, and minor layers to help my crazy curls stay put. However, you will see that side fringe quickly turned into a full!
Next up was the head, neck and shoulders massage with fancy oils and off to getting shampooed with even better smelling Aveda products. I almost fell asleep right in the hair after the little massage! After, I was led to my chair to finally begin the cut! If you haven't booked your appointment yet, you must by the time you finish reading my post. You won't be disappointed by the amazing service and experience alone!
Civello also has a full service spa where you can do everything from a manicure to massage. It's the perfect way to escape from the holiday hustle and bustle. I know I will be back soon for a full massage! Now, who's ready for the final reveal??
Taa Daaaaa! Here I am before and after! I've been asked many times since getting my hair cut if I have extensions and my answer to that is nope, nada, never. I've never dyed my hair or had any extensions put in. It's au natural peeps! Even after getting a few blowouts recently, I've been told my hair is very healthy and in great condition. So, if you can resist, try not to dye your hair and cut it frequently to prevent the dead ends from staying around too long.
Have I inspired you to try bangs? I've included this fab chart from makeup.com that shows what bangs to try for your face shape. I would consider my face to be heart shaped, so don't be afraid to try something new and out of the box that might not be on the chart. It's all about what you love!
So, what do you think? Shall I keep them for the winter months or grow them out ASAP? Decisions, decisions...
PS Check back on Friday for a fun new outfit post including the photo on the right!
