It's come to that time of year again... the 46th annual Country Music Awards where the biggest starts of the country music industry come out to play! I knew I couldn't pass up another opportunity to talk about my favorite awards show since my last years post was the most popular on my Little Black Blog! Not only is the music something to be remember from this night, but last years awesome hosts, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, are back at it again this year to host the awards. Remember how Underwood had 11 wardrobe changes last year? Well, guess what? She amped it up to 12 this year, and I can't wait to show you them all:

Carrie Underwood's 12 Wardrobe Changes
(all of Underwood's photographs are via InStyle)
Arriving on the red carpet in a Reem Acra backless lace gown (this one is tied for first with Taylor Swifts gown for me), showing her Gangam Style moves in Jovani studded nude dresses, and with her co-host Brad Paisley in a Sally LaPointe royal blue cut out dress.

The "hostess with the mostest" in a pale blue-mint Jenny Packham dress, with Paisley in a gorgeous black one shoulder Ines de Santo gown with a high slit, and an adorable Alice + Olivia layered cocktail dress (LOVE this one!!)

Next, Underwood wore a red ruffled Chagoury Couture gown, a grey feathered Christian Siriano tea length dress, and preformed in a custom Tsemaye Binitie high low dress with leather and mirror cutouts (this photo quality is great!)

The final three dresses of the night include a silver and gold sequin Edition by Georges Chakra mini, a white peplum mini (lose the shoes, keep the dress), and a beautiful blue Brian Rennie for Basler strapless ball gown with Swarovski crystals which she said her "goodbyes" in.
Underwood really stepped up her game for the show this year. My top three favorites are:
1. Alice + Olivia layered cocktail dress with gold sequin top: I WANT IT.
2. Reem Acra backless lace red carpet gown
3. Ines de Santo black, asymmetrical, high slit gown

What is your favorite?

Even thought Underwood stepped it up, unfortunately the other stars didn't seem to do the same. I have split it up into similar categories as last year to make the fashion navigation a bit easier.

Love
Taylor Swift, Jana Kramer, and Faith Hill
As always, the lovely Taylor Swift looks stunning in a nude gown with red flower details. When is she not on our best dressed list? However, I wish she would have gone a different direct. She seems to be going with this nude theme lately and I would have liked to see more red. Next, Jana Kramer looked great in a slimming low cut gown. The slight detail from the waist down added a bit of flare with out overdoing it and taking over. My favorite part of her dress was the low cut neck line. She did it very tastefully and with out any slips! Last, Faith Hill went a classic route in a black and white short sleeve gown. I think this was a great choice especially since she is older than many of the stars today. On the other hand, I really loved her pick from last year.

Like
Kellie Pickler, Reba McEntire, Lucy Hale, and Miranda Lambert.
I liked and I didn't like these dresses. Kellie Pickler's dress fit her perfectly and the color complimented her skin. I think she did an awesome job of donating her hair and I give her so much credit for doing so. However, I really don't like the spiky do with this dress. I would have liked to see it a bit more combed and maybe a sparkly hair piece? She was still able to pull off a gorgeous look without even looking at her hair! Reba McEntire looked great in this blue dress. The color looked great against her hair color and the fit was perfect for her body type. Sometimes she can look too frumpy, but this was the total opposite. She looked great! Next, Lucy Hale looked beautiful in a black and white gown. I loved the black detailing on the dress and her hair was perfect. This reminds me of something Taylor Swift once wore, maybe? I only have one question in regards to Hale, why was she there? Last, Miranda Lambert looked so-so in a nude gown. I loved the cut and style of the dress, but I think it was a little bit too small on top. Her boobs are popping a little too much. Ultimately, I think the color washes her out. This dress would have been perfect for her in a grey or even a cream color.

No, Thank You
Brad Paisley's wife Kimberly Williams, actress Hayden Panettiere, and Martina McBride.
Brad Paisley's wife was not looking her best. The cute and style of the dress were great, but what in the world is that fabric? If she wanted the shimmer effect then she should have gone to the extreme of a full sequin gown or the other extreme of no shimmer and just a simple fabric. Hayden Panettiere wore a cream and fringe mini. I really don't like anything about this except the back of the dress and her accessories. I loved the pop of green, but otherwise this one was a dud. Last, Martina McBride wore a brown Greek-goddess looking gown. I really liked the cut of this gown on her, but it looked a little big and the color did nothing for her. I think a bolder version of this dress would have been much better.

Dynamic Duo
Sugarland's Kristian Bush and a pregnant Jennifer Nettles, Luke Bryan and wife Caroline Boyer, and Jake Owen and his pregnant wife Lacey Buchannan. All the ladies looked fabulous, pregnant or not, and the men complimented them just as well.
The Band Perry and Lady Antebellum. Someone please help The Band Perry. They are having a fashion crisis, again. I think my friend summed it up pretty well when she asked, "What happen to Kimberly's hair? Did she stick her finger in an outlet?" It doesn't help that Hillary Scott is taking over in the right picture with her sassy pose. If that pose doesn't show confidence, I don't know what does!

The Men
Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, and Hunter Hayes all looking spiffy in their suits (or in Shelton's case, jeans).

X&O,
katie
